PoA, round two
Saw PoA for the second time tonight. There's such a difference between seeing it with a horde of hardcore fans and seeing it with a smattering of college students. I still love it; I'm compiling a list of the wonderful details that made me squee. Let's see how many I can remember:
- Aunt Marge's "boing!" noises when she hits the ceilings
- The shrunken head. Yes, I love it. It makes the dumb jokes that I would be making, were it not around.
- Igor!Tom. This goes along with mini-Hitler!Flitwick in the "WTF, mate?" category.
- The toads! So much love for the toads.
- The zooming shots. We've all heard about Cuaron's preference for wide shots, and it makes it all the more significant when he goes in close - and how! The pupil zooms with both Harry and Remus are fantastic.
- The Spock lookalike next to Remus at the Head Table
- Snape coming out of the closet. 'Nuff said.
- Sir Cadogan! I caught him this time, yay!
- Trelawney's Tower of Teacups
- The way that the CGI doesn't suck! *coughcentaurcough*
- I have decided that the random Draco minion is Blaise Zabini.
- The detail in the portraits. Like everything else in the film, they are far more dynamic than in the previous two.
- Neville returned to his rightful place as the bumbler, instead of Seamus.
- The way that all wizards' clothes must have really deep pockets to hold their wands like that.
Ack, brain's dying...will try to get in a few more...
- Room of Doom. I mean. Room of Doom.
- The swing music.
- The symmetry of Sirius putting his hand to both Remus's and Harry's chests, near their hearts. Not like that, in Harry's case! Dirty minds, all of you. *shakes head*
- Harry describing his dream house to Hermione. *melts*
- "You tell those spiders, Ron." <3!
Yes, I take issue with Harry lighting his wand without getting into trouble, but the scene makes up for that by being so outrageously funny. Yes, I have a huge problem with Ron agreeing with Snape's insult to Hermione. But as a wholel, my love for this film will never end.
Oh dear. Almost two. Will probably come up with more on Saturday.

What do you think such a room is used for?

I didn't catch Sir Cadogan when I saw it, but hopefully I can go again this weekend -- mind telling me when he shows up? ;;)
