It's still Friday in my home time zone!

This Chapter: The second spirit arrives, with a cigar and a sharp tongue. She brings more than humor with her as Tigh's re-education continues.

Stave III: The Second of the Three Spirits )
zorb: (Fingerpaint - BSG)
See Stave I for header information. I'm lazy like that.

This chapter: The first spirit visits Tigh for an "educational" trip through his past. Meanwhile, the author amuses herself with bad puns.

Title: A Solstice Carol
Rating: PG-13 for language
Spoilers: Character spoilers through 2x10, but this fic is decidedly AU.
Disclaimer: The characters belong to Moore, Eick, and other people who aren't me. The story is based on Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol; you'll recognize the lines that are directly lifted.
Summary: On the eve of the winter solstice, Saul Tigh is alone and perfectly content to stay that way, thank you very much. Can a visit from an old friend teach him otherwise? Extremely AU.
Notes: If Christianity can co-opt pagan traditions, I can put them back. All information on Brumalia and the solstice comes from the interweb; all errors are mine. Characters and relationships are arranged to suit the plot, not shipping or BSG canon. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] photosinensis for the beta. This fic is crack that ate my brain, and I sincerely apologize. Happy non-denominational holidays to you.

Re-posting for archival purposes; originally a response to [livejournal.com profile] sf_friday48's fourth challenge.

Title: Alien Pilots Have More Fun
Rating: G? PG, if you stretch. You would not want a higher rating for this fic.
Fandom/Characters: Farscape and Stargate: Atlantis....and it's Pilot and Hermiod. Yes. Um. Hint of BSG at the end.
Spoilers: Through PK Wars for Farscape, through "Intruder" for SGA.
Word count: 1,499
Notes: I can't be the only person who thinks Hermiod looks like Pilot behind his little console, can I?

This is a sequel to Taste (and I highly recommend you (re)read that fic before starting this one). I did not originally intend for that fic to have a sequel, but it was suggested, and the second two-thirds of Season 8 provided ample opportunity for me to skew the universe to my own interpretation. Then I spent most of the summer hating what I'd written so far, then finally finished it, then sat on it for a few more weeks because I have sequel issues. But my sister convinced me to post this, so here it is.

Title: Of Reality (I'm so clever like that)
Rating: R. Very much R. For the sex0rz, naturally, plus language.
Pairing: Sam/Daniel, with a side of Sam/Pete and Daniel/Vala. Also, Jack.
Spoilers: The entirety of S8 (minus "Moebius," because it makes my head hurt), as well as spoilers for where the characters will be at the beginning of S9.
Disclaimer: As usual, they do not belong to me. Nor does this interpretation of events, really - that one goes to all of us S/D shippers. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt - it's a fun river. My delusions are more fun than your delusions. :-P
Summary: In what reality, for instance, would he be standing next to the woman with whom he was having earth-moving, mind-blowing sex, arm around her shoulders, as they listened to marriage plans – and not be engaged to her himself? Sequel to Taste.

I'm an idiot.  This was supposed to be for [livejournal.com profile] sf_friday48's challenge this week, but for some reason, I had it in my head that entries were due today, rather than yesterday.  I suck a lot, but as it was half written already, I figured I'd finish.  Anyway.  Not my favorite piece, but it needed to escape my system.

Title: One for the Road
Rating: PG-13 for the naughty words
Spoilers: The miniseries.  And Lee backstory from "Final Cut" and podcast.
Disclaimer: Not mine.  Wish he was they were.  A few lines are paraphrased from the miniseries and are also not mine.
Summary: What if Lee had gone ahead and left the military to venture into a different kind of service?  AU, set just before the events of the miniseries, with some adjusting of timeline.  Angstcakes.  Also, Kara. Oh, and a towel, but not as special as the "Final Cut" one.

This fic was for the [livejournal.com profile] multiverse2004 challenge.  Authors were concealed when the fics went up, but now they're posted, so I can pimp mine publicly.  W00t. ;-)

Title: First Flight
Author: [livejournal.com profile] zorb
Rating: PG-13
Crossover: BSG/SG-1 - Kara Thrace/Sam Carter
Spoilers: BSG - through currently aired for backstory only; SG-1 - through 7x08 ("Space Race")
Disclaimer: I'm just taking the sand out of the box to let it play with the other sand for a while.  I'll put it back when I'm done.
Summary: In vino veritas. Sam tells the tale of her first love - one Kara Thrace, aka Starbuck.
Notes: This site was my source for the program in which I somewhat anachronistically enrolled the girls.  This fic was my first attempt at femslash, first attempt to write in a very military world I know nothing about, and first written poker game, which I also know nothing about but have the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] ravenmb to thank for the help.

Title: Identity Crisis
Author: [livejournal.com profile] zorb
Rating: PG-13, for excessive use of the word frak
Characters/Pairing: Starbuck, Helo, Boomer.  But mostly Starbuck.  Gen, though I suppose you can read into it what you will.
Spoilers: Through Season 1 - if I hit on a future plot point, it's entirely accidental as I am camped out in my spoiler-free bunker.
Disclaimer: I'll put your toys back where I found them, Ron, I promise!
Summary: The immediate aftermath of KLG2 on Caprica.  "That the Cylons wanted to conquer the humans was obvious.  That they wanted to be human was a startling revelation.  That they wanted to be her – that was just plain crazy."
Author's Note: Welcome to my first venture into BSG fic.  All feedback is most welcome.  Enjoy!

Title: Hair
Rating: PG
Ships: N/A
Summary: Recipe: Begin with one (1) unit SG-1. Add alcohol, Scrabble, and a hair fetish. Mix well.
Spoilers: Takes place immediately after "Fire and Water".

Author's Note: Oh man, how to explain this fic? Well, it all came from a comment by [livejournal.com profile] tallisen over on [livejournal.com profile] daniel_daily: "*squee!* someone needs to braid that hair! How come no one ever did? *pout* He's so pretty!” This fic can also be blamed on a Starbucks Chantico. It's the new Mountain Dew.  Thanks to purplepenguin1013 for the beta!

Any Day In November: Claire and Melburn Jackson died in a freak accident in 1974...or did they? What happens when SG-1 finds Daniel's parents on a planet across the galaxy, and hardly a day older than when they - well, didn't die? Daniel-centric genfic, spoilers up through Season Seven's "Chimera", rated a very tame PG-13.
zorb: (S/D cute - SG)
Title: Taste
Rating: hard R for sex and language - generally, for people being naughty.
Ships: Sam/Daniel, Sam/Pete
Summary: They're not saints.  Theirs aren't easy jobs; sometimes, they need a certain kind of relief.  But how long can they maintain the illusion?
Spoilers: "Forever In A Day", "Fallen", "Chimera", "Death Knell", "Heroes", "Resurrection", "New Order",  "Affinity" - the fic spans the time from "Death Knell" till just before "Affinity".
Disclaimer: Stargate Sg-1 and its characters are the property of Stargate (II) Productions, Showtime/Viacom, MGM/UA, Double Secret Productions, and Gekko Productions. This story is for entertainment purposes only and no money exchanged hands. No copyright infringement is intended.

Author's Note: This is an unbeta-ed work.  All mistakes are mine.  I hope you enjoy the little ditty that took over my brain.

The things I do for procrastination.  Also, I pimp!  If you are the RPG-watching type, I recommend you check out [livejournal.com profile] hpfromtheashes, a nifty newish game following the Order and its peripherals after OotP.  We're going to tackle the Half Blood Prince - and yes, I did use first person there, though I'm keeping mum on the who. ;-)

For a while now, my interest in [livejournal.com profile] nocturne_alley has been waning.  I won't go into the reasons in detail, but by the new year, my love for another RPG had overtaken it so much that I could no longer call NA my favorite.  Still, when NA was good, it was very good, and I appreciate all of the players' efforts in developing this style of LJ RPG and in setting a high standard.  Heck, this game got me to download and memorize a BtVS song, and I have no interest in that show.  I'm glad they went out with closure, rather than petering out, as the one RPG I've ever been in did.  It feels odd not to be checking the friends page every day along with the other games I follow, but I don't have the gaping hole in my heart that many of you seem to have.

What will I miss most?  [livejournal.com profile] petitemillicent, who is, and ever shall be, God.

Title: Operation: Distraction!
Challenge: Harry and Hermione play matchmaker for Ron.
Summary: Desperate to end Ron's fixation on his sister's love life, Harry and Hermione undertake Operation Distraction. Will their plans succeed? Or will they reveal something neither of them expects?

Thanks to my fabulous beta team and to everyone who reads it!

Saw PoA for the second time tonight. There's such a difference between seeing it with a horde of hardcore fans and seeing it with a smattering of college students. I still love it; I'm compiling a list of the wonderful details that made me squee. Let's see how many I can remember:

O Alfonso, thou art brave and true! )

Oh dear. Almost two. Will probably come up with more on Saturday.
zorb: (Warts)
Note: This is a repost of my PoA line party and review posts on [livejournal.com profile] zorb. Nothing new here if you've read those. Except for this introduction.

'Line' Party fun, complete with name-dropping! )

Movie review, written while extremely tired. )

That's all I can come up with now, after one late-night/early morning viewing. I am sure I will have more to say the next time I see it. Hopefully, that will be very soon.

Everyone should go take [livejournal.com profile] littletort's canon poll!

Also: had a weird dream last night in which I was directing Harry, Ron, and Hermione in a play. Except it might have been Dan, Rupert, and Emma, I can't remember.

Whoa! FictionAlley has been nominated for a Webby!

Now, we're in the company of LJ, Friendster, and Wikipedia, but it'd be really nice not to come in dead last. Vote here!
